Yueshang Tea Restaurant: A Nostalgic Blend of Chinese and Western Cultures

The Yueshang Tea Restaurant is a part of the Sichuan-Hong Kong demonstration park, a complex commercial area designed to create a new scene for a better life connecting the future community. The park extracts theme elements from daily life, health, entertainment, and cultural and artistic scenes, following the current trend of the real estate industry development, to create a business center with an exclusive project IP symbol.

Renata Yin's design for the restaurant is inspired by the unique Hong Kong style of the 1960s, a golden age marked by a unique literary and artistic atmosphere. The restaurant serves as a place for business negotiation and various social activities, allowing customers to experience the unique charm of the combination of Chinese and Western cultures. It also expresses the continuity of the Hong Kong school culture, allowing people to return to the Hong Kong of the 1980s and experience a strong atmosphere of leisure culture.

The restaurant, covering an area of 453 square meters, is designed using metal, murals, and glass. The choice of decorative materials combined with various building materials reflects the multi-faceted tea restaurant culture. The dark green card furniture is subject to the basic tone, unified with the basic tone. Designers use a clever color system and lighting to create a retro, fashionable decorative style and a comfortable dining environment.

The project began in Shanghai in April 2020 and was completed in Meishan, Sichuan Province in October 2020. The design team, which included Emma Zhang and Luis Lv, faced challenges in combining various building materials and reflecting the multi-faceted tea restaurant culture. However, they successfully overcame these challenges to create a unique and innovative design.

Renata Yin's design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. The Silver A' Design Award is rewarded to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
